1. Who is responsible

2. Hosting

Cloudflare Workers hosts this website. Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, provides the service. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the date and time, the page you requested and details of your browser.

This is necessary to deliver the site securely and quickly and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running the site reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses also apply.

3. Visitor statistics without cookies

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages people read and how often. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and builds no profile of you. I only see totals, such as page views per day and rough countries of origin.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent is needed under § 25 TDDDG.

4. Fonts and images

All fonts and artwork images are stored on this website itself. Your browser does not connect to Google Fonts, Wikimedia or any other service to load them.

5. Email

If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages to dave@thesublime.art to my mailbox at Google (Gmail), Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. I use your message only to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering messages (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

6. Links to other websites

Some pages link to museums, galleries and other websites. When you follow a link, the other website's own privacy policy applies. If I add affiliate links in future, I will mark them clearly and update this policy first.

7. How long I keep data

I keep emails for as long as our conversation needs them, and delete them within twelve months after that unless the law requires me to keep them longer.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just email me.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. Mine is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.

9. No automated decisions

I make no automated decisions and create no profiles within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
